One tradition we've enjoyed carrying on is the Amish buffet. Although the name is fairly new, the practice started long ago -- at barn raisings, quiltings, silo fillings, harvest times and other community events, each Amish household would bring a dish to share, creating the original Pennsylvania Dutch home cooked buffets.
